Simon Fagerland (1920-2007) was born on February 12th, 1920, in Skudenes, Norway to Torleif Fagerland (1895-1975), and Johana Olsen (n/a). Simon and Torleif would later immigrate to the United States and presumably move to Barnegat, New Jersey. Johana, and Simon's brother would stay behind in Norway. In 1954, Simon purchased a vessel which he named "Fagerland" for $7,000.00. He was a commercial fisherman and was well-known in Barnegat Light, New Jersey. His boat was later donated to the Tuckerton Seaport Museum in Tuckerton, New Jersey. On August 17th, 2007, Simon passed away at the age of 87 and is buried at the Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Run, New Jersey.

This collection includes some cards addressed to Simon, some billheads, a bank book from the First National Bank of Toms River's Barnegat Branch, and a Rexall drug store notebook that he used.
